To access the Dispatch Optimizer (D.O.) from SWS main menu, go to Easy Operations, left click on Dispatch, then left click on Dispatch Optimizer.
Based on applicable filter settings, a list of (Dispatch) “Moves” will display on the right-hand side of the page. These can also be referred to as Move “cards”. 5 Move “cards” are displayed per page.
NOTE: By default, Moves will be sorted by “Rank”. Once a driver has been selected to dispatch, the Moves will automatically display with the closest (in terms of distance) move.
As an example, the driver below was assigned a move to the BNSF. The Move “cards” will in turn display available moves from that location. If there were no moves from that location available, the next closest move would display.
Left click on the drop-down arrow above the Moves to view the full list of sorting options. Left click on the desired sort to update view. (See example below)
The selected/active sort will display at the top of the moves. In the example below, 63 of the total move count of 399 have an Import Last Free Day when Import Last Free Day is the selected sort.
Description of Sort Options:
Appointments: Lists moves with Appointments first (this option looks at both shipper & consignee appointments but there is not an order within this sort)
Consignee Appointment: Lists moves with Consignee Appointments (date order current to future)
Empty Billed Date: When the rail bill function is utilized from the Move “card”, a “Billed Empty Date” is then added to the move card. (See below example) This sort would list those dates past to current.
Empty Notify Date: Lists those moves with Empty Notify Dates (past to current)
Export Cuts: Lists Export (order) Cuts (past to future)
First Last Free Day: If applicable, (this would indicate storage was incurred), lists First last free day (past to current)
Import Last Free Day: Lists Import Last Free Day (past to future)
Per Diem Last Free Day: List Per Diem Last Free Day (past to future)
Rank: Lists closest (distance) move when driver is selected (Default Sort)
Shipper Appointment: Lists those moves with Shipper Appointments (past to future)
SSL: When this sort is selected, the below window will display listing all applicable SSL’s (Steamship Lines/container owners) that are included in the current Move “card” filter.
Left click on the desired SSL to display those moves with that equipment owner. (Example below)
HINT: If using the Search option to display a specific Location Profile, you can sort by SSL as well.
